Khosro Heydari, a former Iranian football player, had an illustrious career primarily as a defender for Esteghlal. His exceptional performances for Pas caught the attention of Esteghlal F.C., leading him to accept their offer. During the 2008-09 season, he played a vital role in Esteghlal’s triumph in the league. He continued to excel in the following season, establishing himself as the team’s most influential player. In 2010, Heydari left Esteghlal and joined Sepahan, signing a two-year contract. His time with Sepahan was fruitful, as he helped them secure a league title. On 23 July 2011, Heydari returned to Esteghlal F.C. on a two-year deal after being transferred back from Sepahan. In his first season back, he contributed to Esteghlal’s victory in the Hazfi Cup, followed by another successful campaign in the Iran Pro League the next season. Displaying his loyalty, Heydari extended his contract with Esteghlal on 13 July 2013, committing to the club until 2016. Impressed by his consistent performances, the club rewarded him with a three-year contract extension on 19 June 2016, securing his stay until 2019. Heydari announced his retirement from football at the conclusion of the 2018-19 season, bidding farewell to Esteghlal after his final game, a 2-1 win against Sepidrood on 16 May 2019. Heydari’s international career began as a member of the Iranian national under-23 football team, representing his country in the 2006 Asian Games. He received a call-up to the senior squad in June 2007 for the West Asian Football Federation Championship. Making his debut against Palestine, Heydari went on to participate in the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifications for Team Melli. Additionally, he featured in the 2011 and 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualifications. Heydari proudly represented Team Melli in the West Asian Football Federation Championship 2010, the 2011 Asian Cup, the 2014 World Cup, and the 2015 Asian Cup, showcasing his skills on the international stage.
